Greetings and Welcome! President's Message |

The ladies of the Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter are proud to welcome you
to our chapter website. Our website will provide you with
information about our local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated as well as, community programming, scholarships and
charitable contributions.
Our signature program is the
AKA AKAdemy, which is
structured to focus on the developmental needs of adolescent - teen
girls and boys 6th through 12th grade. We
currently serve more than 200 students with funding made possible
through the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, Inc.

Chapter Loses Charter

The Zeta Upsilon Omega
Chapter lost a cherished member of its chapter’s legacy in the
sudden passing of founding member Soror Lena M. Lester Brown.
Soror Brown, at 92 years
young, became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 8, 2008. She
graduated from Boggs Academy in Keysville, GA. in 1936 and went
on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business
Administration and English at Clark University in Atlanta in
1940. Later, she earned a Master of Science degree in Business
Education at the University of Pennsylvania in 1949. Soror
Brown also did additional studies in guidance and counseling at
Florida A&M University and Tennessee State University.

 The Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA), Inc. and the Kaplan Education Centers plan to prepare 100 African-American students for the American College Test (ACT). The tests will be provided and scored by Kaplan of St. Petersburg. Members of the Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter will administer and proctor the test. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION!
