Message
Greetings,
The ladies of the Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter are proud to welcome you to our website. You’ll find information about our local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority including the accomplishments and celebrations of our international and local programs.
For more than 50 years, we have been honored and willing to give back to the community in order to make a difference. Locally, we engage in service programs that focus on healthy lifestyles, economic security, black family and education. We also provide scholarship opportunities through many of our fundraising events.
Our signature program is the AKA AKAdemy, which is structured to focus on the developmental needs of adolescent - teen girls and boys 6th through 12th grade. We currently serve more than 200 students with funding made possible through the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, Inc.
Through our national program focus of Global Leadership Through Timeless Service, we embrace a full spectrum of program initiatives: Emerging Young Leaders; Health; Global Poverty; Economic Security; Social Justice and Human Rights; and Internal Leadership Training for External Services (For a full description of initiatives, see Programs link).
We are proud of our legacy and thank our partners and families for helping us achieve our program goals.
Crystal L. Pruitt, President
